What I enjoyed most at Banksia Park International High School were the music lessons. In Japan we donβt have music ensemble. It was new for me to play music with students in the music class.
I also enjoyed the excursion to the city with other international students.
All experiences with homestay and school will be memorable to me. Everything in Australia was new for me. I love this country and this school.

What I enjoyed most at Banksia Park International High School was the excursion camp with the Outdoor Education class. I had the opportunity to try new experiences and at the same time create better relationship with my friend. However, it was a really good way to explore new places and activities in Australia. I was surprised about the variety of subjects at the school, which allows the students to specialise in the subjects they prefer. And participating in Clubs, which helped to create new friendships.
Teachers were very helpful, really understanding and available to answer all my questions.
What I enjoyed most at Banksia Park International High School was the variety of practical lessons which I have never learned in Japan: Photography, CafΓ© Skills, Design, Society & Culture. In my home country, I can learn just academic things.
Teachers were very caring and helpful. Although Japanese names can be difficult to pronounce for most, everyone tried to utter correctly and memorised my name and face.
ππ So proud of our students Olivia and Katie for their amazing performance at the Secondary Schools Culinary Competition at Regency TAFE yesterday! Their dedication in multiple practice sessions truly paid off. π©βπ³π©βπ³
They had just an hour to debone a chicken and create two servings of a dish with specific starch, vegetable content, and two precision cuts. Their winning dish was a delicious chicken, goat cheese, and chive raviolo, served with blanched asparagus spears, asparagus purΓ©e, chicken jus, crispy chicken skin, and garnished with rocket. ππ½οΈ
Olivia and Katie earned a gold medal and were the overall winners of the competition! π₯π They will now represent South Australia in the National competition later this year. π A big thank you to Ms. Inoue for being a fantastic mentor and guiding them to this successful day! ππ

The Year 11 CafΓ© Skills students showcased their talents by hosting a pop-up cafΓ© in the Kumangka foyer last Thursday. Their cafΓ©, Kudlila (meaning Winter in the Kaurna language), was a delightful hit, serving up hot chocolates β, milkshakes π₯€, scones with jam and cream π°, and pizza scrolls π. We had The Wiggles jamming, The Chipmunks chattering, Gru and his Minion crew plotting, superheroes saving the day, and even Juno made an appearance along with many more fabulous characters! ππ

π On Thursday, 23 May, all year 8s participated in Market Day with their HASS classes!
π½οΈ This was a lunchtime market for students to put a real-world context to their HASS learning. Focusing on different international cuisines π, the students found their own recipes for a food π, drink π₯€, and a game π―. Students also oversaw the catering π΄, finance πΈ, marketing π’, promotions π, and logistics π of their class's business. πΌ
